Inclusive Democracy & Civic Engagement: The Next Generation

The mission of the conference is to Empower, Educate & Inspire the Emerging Immigrant Woman.

  • Are you an immigrant woman or girl in Maine?

  • Are you an entrepreneur or business person in an industry that offers products and/or services that address employment issues or who can help further our mission to inspire, empower and educate immigrant women in Maine?

  • Are you a person who is interested in women's issues and wants to support and encourage immigrants' growth and contributions to Maine's communities?

Attend this free conference. You will meet some of the most incredible women in Maine's immigrant community.

Morning Forum   I   9 am – 1 pm at the Wishcamper Center, USM. The Morning Forum will include two panel presentations, one on politics and another on opportunities for civic engagement, including internships and job shadowing opportunities that will be offered to young women who attend. There will be a resource fair oriented around the theme. Young immigrant women are invited to join the conference to learn about opportunities to engage, enter politics, and become activists in their communities.
Evening Trailblazers Gala   I   5:30 pm – 8 pm at Congregation Bet Ha'am. The Gala will feature a Red Carpet Reception, a keynote speech by Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, Sarah Gideon, a performance by the Pihcintu Multicultural Chorus, dinner and the presentation of the 2018 Trailblazers video.
